Hempel Light Primer

About

Hempel Light Primer is a two-part epoxy solvent based primer and undercoat.  It helps prevent osmotic blistering in glass fibre and protects against general corrosion.

Features

• Hempel Light Primer is suitable for use above and below the waterline and is ideal for protection of keels and rudders
• Substrates: suitably prepared glass fibre, steel, aluminium and plywood
• Application method: brush, roller
• Recommended number of coats: 1 to 5 depending upon substrate and environment above/below waterline
• Touch dry: 3 to 6 hours (temperature dependent)
• Hard dry: 6 to 12 hours (temperature dependent)
• Fully cured: 7 to 14 days (temperature dependent)
• Overcoat time (Hempel Light Primer): minimum 4.5 to 9 hours; maximum 30 to 60 days (temperature dependent) - Other products have different overcoat times - refer to Data Sheet.
• Standard shade: off white
• Finish/sheen: semi-gloss
