The West System Epoxy 105-K Glass Fibre Boat Repair kit is a 2-part epoxy based system designed to effect a range of repairs to fibreglass boats. The Repair Kit includes resin and hardener, together with associated mixing and application tools; kit contents are as follows:
- 105 resin (250g)
- 205 hardener (50g)
- 402 milled glass fibre filler (1 tub)
- 409 microspheres blend (1 tub)
- 1m x 125mm 450g/m² biaxial glass tape
- 1m x 75mm 175g/m² woven glass tape
- 1m x 100mm peel ply tape
- Mixing/application tools: mixing cups (3 No), reusable mixing stick (1 No), syringes (2 No), glue brushes (2 No)
- Disposable nitrile gloves (2 pairs)
- Instructions
- The West System Epoxy 105-K Glass Fibre Boat Repair kit contents can be used in a range of combination to effect different glass fibre repairs
- The basic 105/205 resin/hardener mix can be used for coating, wetting out glass fibre fabric or mixing with different fillers
- Typical repair combination with 105/205 mix are listed below
- Use with 409 for repairing minor abrasion and scratches
- Use with 402 or woven or biaxial tape for holes and punctures
- Use with 409 or biaxial tape for delamination
- 205 hardener formulated to produce a rapid cure on mixing
- Pot life (typical volume): 9 to 12 minutes (room temperature)
- Cure to solid (thin film): 6 to 8 hours (room temperature)
- Cure to working strength (thin film): 1 to 4 days (room temperature)
